Silva wants 2 Belts
Anderson SilvaSince emerging in the Ultimate Fighting Championship two years ago, Anderson Silva has clearly proven his position as the No. 1 middleweight fighter in the world. Many have also bandied about the label of best pound-for-pound fighter in the same breath as the UFC middleweight champion.

Now he’s out to prove it. And for the first time in the promotion’s history, UFC president Dana White is giving his blessing to allow one of his champions to move among divisions in an attempt to hold two belts in two classes.

Anderson Silva Is the Most Dangerous Man in the World

It’s official now, and he has the “Mantlers” to prove it. Here’s the Spider picking up his award at SpikeTV’s Guys Choice Awards on Sunday. Our kudos to Silva for his perfect pronunciation of “Sorry, my English is no good,” and to Chris Leben for providing Anderson with an entire highlight reel via their match at UFC Fight Night 5. Klitschko never had a chance.

Stepping up to 205?
Anderson SilvaWhile everyone else is headed down, Anderson Silva is on his way up.

Although the Ultimate Fighting Championship has yet to make its own official announcement, company president Dana White on Tuesday confirmed to Dave Meltzer of Yahoo Sports that there will indeed be a July 19 UFC event that will air on Spike TV.

According to Meltzer, UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva will headline the event, though there is an added twist. He will not be defending his belt.

Jones Interested
Anderson Silva ThumbUltimate Fighting Championship middleweight titleholder Anderson Silva recently indicated that he would like to challenge Roy Jones, Jr. – once regarded as one of the top pound-for-pound boxers in the world – to a boxing match.
