For the first time in the organization's history, the UFC is heading to Atlanta -- and the Sept. 6 show will feature a main event between UFC light heavyweight contenders Chuck Liddell (21-5 MMA, 16-4 UFC) and Rashad Evans (11-0-1 MMA, 6-0-1 UFC).
The main event of the Ultimate Fighting Championship’s return to London on June 7 hasn’t found the day all that lucky. The promotion on Monday announced that one half of its headlining bout, former UFC champion Chuck Liddell, had to withdraw due to a severe right hamstring injury.
The Ultimate Fighting Championship on Thursday
officially announced that Rashad Evans will replace injured Brazilian
Mauricio “Shogun” Rua in the main event of UFC 85 on June 7 in London.
For the second straight week, “Iceman: My Fighting Life,” a book
written by former UFC light heavyweight champion Chuck Liddell and
co-author Chad Millman, has landed ninth on The New York Times Best Seller List for hardcover nonfiction.
The book was released last month by Dutton Adult, which is part of the Penguin Group.
“Iceman” covers the entire life of Liddell — from his childhood
through his reign as the UFC’s 205-lb. champ up until his May 2007 loss
to Quinton “Rampage” Jackson and subsequent defeat to Keith Jardine.
The 305-page title recently received a ringing endorsement from mmajunkie.com book reviewer, Paul Larkin.
