New Sinister fighter Toby Imada defended his light Total Combat light-weight belt this weekend, with a TKO over Preston Scharf. Imada is a legend among hard-core fight fans, despite his 16-10 record, He has battled against the top names in the game including Mayhem Miller, Jake Shields, Hermes Franca, and Joe Stevenson.
The energy level for the main event was high, and Toby cam out to a standing ovation. For the entire first round Toby dominated Preston both striking and grappling. Imada impressed the crowd with good transitions and body positioning. Both fighters were very active the entire round, but toward the end of the round Toby landed some good shots from the top and scored a TKO victory.
When you watch Toby (a black belt in Judo) fight it is always technical and action-packed. Imada isn’t your typical fighter, he bounces between weight classes takes fights on very shorts notice. Although it hasn’t been flattering on his record no one can say they he isn’t a gamer.
