The Sinister Legion was in full-effect this weekend as two sponsored fighters claimed 1st round victories at Total Combat inside the 4th and B venue. The first match of the night pitted San Diego’s own east-county boy Waylon Kennal against the much larger Frank Lester. Lester tipped the scales at 206 while Waylon didn’t break 200lbs. The size difference wasn’t a factor as Waylon clinched with the big striker and took him to the ground via back-wrench and leg-trip. Once on the ground the kick-boxer was obviously out of his element, and was punished with elbows and punches. With time winding down in round 1, Waylon’s corner called for the pass from side control to mount. Waylon obliged, and after a brief rodeo-ride controlled his struggling opponent and delivered some close elbows to the face. Lester struggled to avoid the strikes, but exposed his lead arm, and Waylon quickly moved in for the finish by arm-bar. Total Combat 26 pictures by Scott Ma6hine.
