Ian Stonehouse

It’s a true life to be a fighter!

Sinister Brand Sponsored fighter Ian Stone House made his Pro debut over the weekend at  Kick Down 52.  Apparently MTV wanted to do a show on what it takes to be a young aspiring fighter  and Ian Stonehouse met the criteria.  Though Ian has competed in MMA and Kick Boxing this was his first experience with full time cameras following him around, and for his Pro debut none the less.

Kick Down 52: "Forceful"

Saturday night July 26, 2008, the Red Lion hotel was packed with fans from at least three different states as debut fighters, professional fighters and veterans alike put on an action packed night of MMA bouts with three titles on the line.  In addition, MTV was on site to record an episode of, "True Life" which chronicled the professional debut of Ian Stonehouse for an episode set to air in September.

This isn’t one of those shows where the short kid wants to be a cheerleader, or the high maintenance chick wants to be a skater.  Ian had 2 options, #1 he could be the hero and win his 1st pro debut which will air on national t.v. or #2 he could try his best and even though he wouldn’t win he could say he tried. So having said that, there was no pressure on Ian Stonehouse, no pressure at all!

Now on to the action:

Ian Stonehouse defeated John Sargent with a TKO referee stoppage at :48 of round one.

Early in the Match Ian said he felt John was very strong and he could be in for a long night.  Ian new his opponent was a wrestler so he wasn’t surprised by an early attempt at a doubleleg.  Ian stuffed the takedown attempt and after a quick sprawl Ian shot his hips forward and ended up in full mount.  The fight was stopped after only 48 seconds when Ian gained the full mount, and after landing some nice shots the referee stepped in to stop it.  Now look for Ian to make his Reality T.V. debut in Sept on MTV True life “ MMA Fighter”. Until then get back to work Ian.
